Managing Your Google Backlinks Profile

With new updates and all the google’s algorhythm is changing the way the SEO works. In past it was FFA pages that google frowned upon then there were techniques like doorway pages and god knows what. After cracking on them all google brought out another update and this time it was about links that are just unnatural or coming from a bad source.
If you have added your site into google’s webmasters section and you are unlucky one to get one of those messages about bad links then you know what I am talking about. If you haven’t got such messages then great. But it would be a good idea to check your site’s backlink profile and if you are in a process to generate new backlinks for your site then it would be a good idea to keep the rules in your mind so that your site doesn’t gets penalized for unnatural links.
If you already have got unnatural backlinks then the only way which is the hard way is to email the webmaster of that particular site and request removal of that link. I myself get some messages from some webmasters on low profile sites I have and I myself also have to email other webmasters in order to remove my links from their sites. The sites which were good in past now are showing up as spam heaven and due to this it has increased lots of work. Maybe this is good news for freelancers and service providers to make in some cash, but for webmasters who own sites and are penalized by this update then it is going to be a huge task for them to clean up their backlink profile.
A natural way to build good backlinks is still the very old same formula and that is to write great content that is likely to be linked from proper sources. Focus on your anchor texts too as that plays an important role in deciding weather your backlinks are natural or are just being blasted by some automated tool. Infact just stay away from the automated tools. The game is all about quality now rather then quantity. First of all use google’s webmaster tools section to checkout the links pointing towards your site. You can also use opensiteexplorer.org or ahrefs.com to analyze your backlinks. If you find some unnatural links in there then just email the webmaster of that site and request him or her to take that links off.
In end just stay away from all the shortcuts and try to do your SEO in an ethical manner. This has always proved to be good option in long run.
